چکیده

In this paper, a simulation-based optimisation methodology is presented for the joint design and planning of globalised supply chains under cost and CO2 emissions minimisation objectives. The aim of this work is to investigate whether or not, and how, the critical decisions and insights – that derive from the respective analytical optimisation process – change, as their critical assumptions e.g. deterministic lead times, no-backorders constraints, power-of-two assumptions, etc., are relaxed. To that end, the proposed methodology is applied to a real-world supply chain, and the outcomes are directly compared to those derived through the related analytical process. The results reveal that the cost and emissions benefits, as well as the relevant managerial insights, gained through the simulation-based approach are meaningful and could provide new feasible, costand environmental-efficient options to the design and planning decisions of such networks.

Capacitated Multimodal Structure of a Green Supply Chain Network Considering Multiple Objectives

In this paper, a supply chain network design problem is explained which contains environmental concerns in arcs and nodes of network. It is assumed that there are some routes such as road, rail and etc. in each pair of nodes. In this model decision variables are choosing facilities to open, environmental investment level in each facility and flow of products between nodes in each route. A multi...

Optimal design of supply chain network under uncertainty environment using hybrid analytical and simulation modeling approach

Models that aim to optimize the design of supply chain networks have gained more interest in the supply chain literature. Mixed-integer linear programming and discrete-event simulation are widely used for such an optimization problem. We present a hybrid approach to support decisions for supply chain network design using a combination of analytical and discrete-event simulation models. The prop...

Considering chain to chain competition in forward and reverse logistics of a dynamic and integrated supply chain network design problem

In this paper, a bi-objective model is presented for dynamic and integrated network design of a new entrant competitive closed-loop supply chain. To consider dynamism and integration in the network design problem, multiple long-term periods are regarded during planning horizon, so that each long-term period includes several short-term periods. Furthermore, a chain to chain competition between t...
